December Paper Pad Club Inspiration with Julee

Hi crafty friends! It's Julee Tilman here with a creative project inspired by Cathy's Garden's stuffed pocket technique. I've paired this idea with the charming Sweet Valentine papers and ephemera from the December Paper Pad Club to create a delightful Valentine's Day project.

Let’s get crafty!

First, I created the main pocket. I wanted a 6-inch tall back tag, so I adjusted the pocket size a bit. I cut two 4.5-inch squares from the Sweet Valentine paper, punched a half-circle in the front, and inked the edges for a vintage look. Then, I adhered them together on three sides with thin double sided adhesive and a touch of liquid glue.

For the main tag, I cut a piece of paper to 3.75 x 6 inches and trimmed the top edges with scissors. Don’t worry about being perfect, we’ll cover it up later! I collaged some pretty ephemera, added some ribbon, and cut out the “XOXO” letters from Emily's Alphabet Die Set. I inked the letters and added some pearly Nuvo drops for accent.

To finish the tag, I added a heart border and a balloon, popping it up with foam tape.

Now, here’s the fun part! I followed Cathy’s idea and glued the ephemera and sentiment banner together first, then glued to the base pocket, but only on the sides. This way, I can stuff more tags into the pocket! The sentiment is from the December Stamp of the Month set, Always & Forever.

Let’s make some cute little tags!
Next, I cut out two larger tags using some dies I had on hand. But you don't need fancy dies, you could just cut some simple tag shapes by hand! For one tag, I used a leftover Valentine’s die-cut I had in my stash. For the other, I used that adorable cupcake from the ephemera pack and popped it up with foam tape. I added some ink to the edges and finished the tags off with some ribbon and twine. I had a small scrap of paper hanging out on my desk, so I decided to make a skinny tag. I rounded one end with a die and the other end with scissors. I added the "special" definition block, printed from a digital file in my collection.

Once all the tags were ready, I just tucked all the pieces into the main pocket. I’m so happy with how this project turned out and how quickly I finished it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
