June Paper Pad Club Inspiration with Julee
Hey crafty friends! Julee Tilman here, popping in with some fun inspiration for your June Paper Pad Club creations! You know, way back when I started stamping, designer paper wasn't really a thing. We had to get creative and stamp our own backgrounds! So for today's card, I decided to go back to those good old basics and stamp my own.

I started by randomly stamping watermelon slices onto a die-cut panel, masking off the edges for a clean look. Then I added in some accent stamps – seeds, splashes, and hearts – using colors that match my main images. I was going to keep it simple, but then I couldn't resist adding a watercolor stripe print from the paper pad! So I grabbed my water-based inks and watercolored the watermelons in my stamped background. (Quick tip: If you try this, definitely start with mixed media or watercolor paper! I didn't, and it limited my shading options.)

Next, I stamped and colored two watermelon slices from the Sweet Slice add-on stamp set with alcohol markers, then quickly fussy cut them. I sponged a soft pink ink onto a white square to create a little backsplash for the watermelons and stamped some juice marks. The sentiment, which might just be my favorite in the set (I love making birthday cards!), is from the same stamp set.

Once all my pieces were ready, I layered them up, adding a scallop mat with the Summer Gingham paper pad and a touch of lace. The final touch? A sweet butterfly from the Watermelon Summer Ephemera. So happy with how this turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to create your own stamped background.
